1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Origin Media (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit our website, contact us, or use our services. Origin Media is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.

Data controller: Origin Media, Douglas, Cork, Ireland. Contact: david@originmedia.ie.

2. What personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Identity & contact data: your name, business name, email address and phone number.
  • Enquiry content: any information you include in a contact form, email, chat message or booking request.
  • Booking data: appointment details you provide when scheduling a consultation.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and device information.
  • Usage & cookie data: information about how you use our website, collected via cookies and analytics (see our Cookie Policy).

3. How we collect it

  • Directly from you, via our contact forms, booking system, newsletter signup, live chat or email.
  • Automatically, through website analytics and cookies when you browse the site.

4. Why we collect it (legal basis)

Under GDPR Article 6, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent — for sending you our newsletter and marketing emails, and for non-essential analytics cookies.
  • Contract — to provide the services you have requested or to take steps before entering into a contract with you.
  • Legitimate interest — to respond to enquiries, run and secure our website, and improve our services, in a way that does not override your rights.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting and other legal requirements.

5. How we use your data

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide quotes.
  • To deliver and manage the services you book or purchase.
  • To send you our newsletter and free resources — only if you have opted in.
  • To understand and improve how our website performs.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted third-party service providers who help us run our business, and only to the extent necessary. These may include:

  • Calendly — consultation booking and scheduling.
  • Jotform — onboarding and enquiry forms.
  • Klaviyo — email marketing and website form submissions.
  • HubSpot — customer relationship management (CRM).
  • Google Ads — advertising and conversion measurement.
  • Google Analytics — website usage analytics.
  • Vercel — website hosting and content delivery.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers — including Calendly, Jotform, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Google (Google Ads and Google Analytics) and Vercel — are based in, or may process your data in, the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or a recognised adequacy decision.

8. How long we keep it

  • Enquiry data: 2 years from your last contact with us.
  • Booking & client records: 7 years, to meet tax and accounting obligations.
  • Newsletter opt-in: until you unsubscribe.

9. Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to: access your data; have inaccurate data rectified; have your data erased; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission. To exercise any of these rights, email us at David@originmedia.ie.

10. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. For full details of the cookies we use and how to manage them, please see our Cookie Policy.
